Every television viewer has seen the infomercial spot showing the forlorn, wanna-be inventor, crushed, their idea being successfully marketed by another party. He did not get a patent. The answer offered in the commercial, contact an invention Submission Company, get a patent, market your product or opportunity to thousands of corporate decision-makers, get rich. This is the American Dream, is it not?
One of the saddest aspects of my work as a new product development and marketing consultant is the whole area of invention submission firms. We see dozens of entrepreneurs every year: mentally torn, financially rocked, hopes depleted after their experience with the invention mills. In a number of cases real opportunity has been slaughtered. In many other cases the product or service offered would never be a realistically viable commercial opportunity, and any capable consultant would honestly advise such.
Essentially these dream merchants are boiler rooms. After viewing the commercial and calling the toll free number, the inventor is contacted by a sales person. Submission materials are forwarded, promises made and costs are discussed. Many entrepreneurs do not have the needed investment monies to appropriately file patents, create prototypes, conduct the research and produce the documents necessary to professionally present the product.
The invention mills, however, typically offer in-house financing and advise that they take care of all of the needed elements required to professionally excite investors or license deals. Often at usurious interest rates, the hopeful inventor makes a down payment on their dream, finances the balance, and, seduced by thoughts of riches, fully buys into the program. Then reality quickly rears its ugly head.
The Patent Filing
There are two styles of patents, utility and design. Only utility has real value, offering specific protections. The design patent can be easily overcome with elemental design or art changes to a product. In addition, a relatively recent filing class has been created: the provisional patent. Essentially the provisional patent is a simple letter to the United States Patent and Trademark Office announcing to the agency that you have an idea and are keen to pursue it. It offers virtually no protection.
The provisional patent costs almost nothing to file and has a life of exactly one-year from date of filing. The provisional must then be amended to utility or design in a new filing. The invention firms have in-house attorney’s that routinely spit out the provisional filings and offer this as proof to the inventor that real patents have been filed and protections secured. Inexperienced, gullible first time entrepreneurs often believe that their product has real patent protection.
After the 12 month provisional period ends, the invention is never supported with a utility filing. The result, product protection rights are fully vacated. The inventor has a lapsed provisional and the submission firm walks away from pursuing the really valuable, and much more expensive, utility patent filing.
Securing a valuable, solid patent protection is the most touted benefit viewers of invention commercials will hear. Is a patent that important, valuable? Yes, and, no. Of course, a utility patent has immense value for any product. Given the choice, we always recommend pursuit of every patent, copyright and trademark claim possible. However, there are many non-patented, very successful products in the marketplace.
Patent strategy is crucial. It requires really experienced patent attorneys, fully committed to securing every possible protection available. That is not available from invention submission firms.
Create a Prototype
It is almost impossible to successfully market a new product without production quality prototypes. This requires diligence, creativity, sophisticated skills and equipment. The steps usually involve a mix of creative meetings, several 3-D, Computer Assisted Graphic (CAD) drawings, a rough model, styling tweaks and then the final model(s). The art is essential as exhibits in utility patent filings, as a tool for source of supply and to determine cost of goods. The models affirm commitment, features and benefits, product uniqueness and viability. Invention mills provide virtually none of this.
The inventor will receive an in-house generated piece of 3-D art. That’s it! No models, prototypes or hardware! This will be the basis for the campaign to market the submission for sale, joint venture or license. And, it can not work, ever.
The inventor provides a verbal description, or self-generated renderings, that are revised by in-house artists. There are almost never face to face meetings, essential to the creative process. The result is a piece of art that appears professional to the inexperienced. This is the prototype. It is sophomoric, unusable for the intended purpose of exciting investors.
Marketing the Invention
With the patent (provisional, of little value) and model (a drawing, of no value) in hand the product invention is ready to be sold, supposedly. Selling, marketing or partnering a product opportunity is hard work and requires contacts, research, experience in highly targeted areas, networking, attending trade shows and tenacity. No is a word heard many, many times more often than the word yes is heard.
How does the invention submission firm approach deal making? They take shortcuts, and shortcuts are death to opportunity. Shortcut number one is blind mailings. A list of companies and contact names is used and a cover letter, copy of the art and nothing else is mailed as a teaser. Anyone can relate to the results of this approach. Executives and corporate decision- makers never respond to junk mail, and that is what this type of submission really is.
The inter-net is a wonderful invention, and, of course, the invention clearing- houses really enjoy this tool, shortcut number-two. Mass e-mailings, unsolicited, otherwise known as junk mail, are a group favorite. The results are always the same, no deal.
Shortcut number-three, the product is added to an encyclopedia of the firm’s past product’s, and the book is offered as a repository of business opportunities for commercialization. A hard copy is available for viewing or on-line access is available. Unfortunately, this completely reverses normal progression of deal making.
Many, many more products are seeking a home than there are homes available for successful placement. Products must be sold and marketed with aggression, vigor, and creativity. Passivity is a model for failure and that is the approach taken by invention submission firms with these strategies.
I have asked many inventors, “Did you ask for successful product placement references”? They universally answer, “I was told, that because of secrecy agreements they signed, they could not provide specific product names and details”. This is gibberish and a subterfuge. A successful product placement is by nature openly sold in the marketplace. It is no longer a secret.
Here are several important keys to consider when interviewing or seeking assistance in marketing or launching a new product:
Demand a face to face interview before hiring a firm or consultant.
Demand references of successful campaigns.
Demand to see successful product specimens.
Check the firm out with Better Business Bureau, States Attorney General.
Demand a patent strategy for a utility filing.
Demand a template of processes the firm utilizes.
Break out costs for each service provided.
Will there be a customized business plan.
Interview more than one firm, at least three.
Ask lots of questions and if you do not receive clear, concise responses, walk away. There is competent, reputable help available for every projects needs.

Contract: An agreement between two or more parties in which each party agrees to provide something in exchange for the other party doing the same. Copyright: The legal right attached to literary, musical, dramatic or artistic works. Copyright automatically attaches to the piece in favor of the creator of it. To sue for copyright infringement, the creator must file for an official copyright from the Library of Congress.
Intellectual Property: A product or idea that has tangible commercial value. Examples of intellectual property include copyrighted works such as books, patented items such as a product design and a trademarked item for a brand. The word “Amazon” is not considered intellectual property. When applied to the Internet, however, the word is intellectual property as it refers to a brand for an online bookstore.
Non-Compete Agreement: An agreement whereby one party, typically an employee, agrees not to use information learned during employment in subsequent business efforts for a set period of time. In some states, non-compete agreements are extremely difficult to enforce. An example of a non-compete agreement dispute is the current litigation between Microsoft and Google over Kai-Fu Lee.
Non-Disclosure Agreement: A contract binding one party to a duty of confidentiality in regard to certain information provided by another. An NDA typically is executed where one party wished to discuss a business venture with another and the discussion necessarily requires the disclosure of sensitive information.
Trademark: A name, label or symbol identifying a product or web site. Trademarks are filed with the Patent and Trademark Office and restricted to a class of products or services. “Amazon” is a trademarked term for Internet services, but not for general references such as ecological discussions.

In Part 2, of Designing a Trading System in MetaStock I covered
how to code the first two of the four major components of a
mechanical entry system. I had explained the coding of price and
liquidity. In this article, I will cover the steps for coding
the remaining two components, trend and volatility, into
MetaStock. In the end, you will have the complete codes for a
mechanical entry system.
Let`s begin with trend identification. Remember, `the trend is
your friend` when trading. You always want to trade with the
trend, not against it. Think of it this way, if you were
swimming in the sea, and got yourself caught in a rip tide, is
it easier to swim with the current or against it? It is the same
with trading with a trend.
There are many ways to identify trends, and it`s not
particularly important which method you use. You just need to
use one. One of my preferred methods for identifying trending
stocks is to find stocks that are trading at their current
highs. You can do this by stipulating that the highest high
price must have been achieved in the last `x` number of days.
Once again, the variables you use will depend on the time frame
you are trading. But for this example, you want the highest high
price in the last 240 days to have occurred in the last 20 days.
Using the formula reference section in the MetaStock Programming
Study Guide, you can find the syntax of the highest high
function, and then plug in the details. Then, using the `less
than` symbol, you can specify the number of days must be less
than 20. In MetaStock language that would be:
HHVBars(H,240) < 20
The final component to our entry system is the volatility
measure. The aim of including this formula is to identify stocks
that move enough for us to make a profit, yet aren`t so erratic
that they keep you up at night. There are a few ways to measure
volatility. However, my favourite is the ATR method. The ATR
indicates how much a stock will move, on average, over a certain
period.
For example, a one-dollar stock might move five cents on average
over the last 20 days. You can divide this value by the price of
the stock and you will have the average percentage movement of a
stock. With these values, you can stipulate a minimum and
maximum daily volatility value.
For example: You may want the ATR, divided by the average
closing price, over the last 21 days, to be greater than 1.5%.
Therefore, the average minimum volatility must be greater than
1.5%.
Additionally, you may want the ATR divided by the closing price,
over the last 21 days, to be less than 6%. This sets the average
maximum volatility at less than 6%. In MetaStock language that
would be:
ATR(21)/Mov(C,21,S)*100 > 1.5 and ATR(21)/Mov(C,21,S)*100 < 6
Putting all our code together, you see what your entry system
looks like:
C>1 and Mov(v,21,s)*C > 200000 and HHVBars(H,240) < 20 and
ATR(21)/Mov(C,21,S)*100 > 1.5 and ATR(21)/Mov(C,21,S)*100 < 6
You now have now a workable entry system. Not only did you
construct a robust system, but it also adheres to the KISS
principal (Keep It Simple Simon). This system can be cut and
pasted into the Explorer within MetaStock. However, the entry is
only the beginning of a successful trading system. In later
parts of this series, you`ll find the rest of the components
that you need to design a profitable trading system.

Throughout centuries, story tellers, and people from different background and cultures always refer to their fascination in meeting one day their soul mates. Is Soul Mate a myth? Do they really exist? Or is Soul Mate a figment of our own imagination that can help keep our hope for a perfect relationship and keep our hope alive. Or is it an escape way for not handling or not looking at ourselves in such a way that we keep delaying our responsibilities and things can be fixed when we meet that perfect relationship with those Soul Mates. Everything is possible! It is up to you and me to decide the bottom line of this puzzle.
If we talk in such metaphysics tone of words used, we will say we are all coming from the same source, one soul, branched out into different ventures or experiences to achieve and in reality we are all Soul Mate. Maybe that’s true but I believe there is more into it than that!!
How do we define Soul Mates?
Soul Mates is another Soul that share the same exact similar way of understanding as the other Soul and in this lifetime so they decided to share their growth and understanding together. It does NOT mean Soul Mates have to be in a relationship to make it work. What do I mean by that?
From the motion that a Soul integrate into life through a particular family, geography, religion, or situation for certain reasons. I do believe we choose our family, we choose our religion, and we choose where we want to be born for certain that the Soul itself will identify and in the same time you will be aware of it one day if you are well attuned within yourself. We will not dispute the reasons we go through that because we will have unlimited reasons here.
Let’s start with our choice of a family to be born with. If each one of us look deeper into our families there must be at least one person and many time there is more in our immediate family or cousin that we feel different with. That person can be your father, your sister, your niece, or your cousin. It really does not matter who that person but that person is your Soul Mate where you always enjoy being in their company, listening to them and mainly valued everything they say. Those experiences with Soul Mate we already started at young age. Then we grow up, how many of us we have one or two particular friends around us at school or where our parents moved to the new neighborhood. I bet you everyone can relate to someone. And that goes on until we are adult and the dating game started.
We need to understand one thing when it comes to relationships, as long as we do not rush ourselves into a relationship for a wrong reason and what I mean by that? Well the look of the person, what they drive, who’s his family, how rich they are, or how cute they are, what their education is, or just to be in a certain crowd. All of that will never bring you to Soul Mates. Why it never work because you are looking into the wrong substance.
With Soul Mate there is no Karma to deal with or work at. All you have an enjoyment of being in each others company. The only thing you know about your Soul Mate is whenever you are in need they are always there for whatever or deep your troubles are. Look around you through the years, can you identify already someone that fit that equation. I bet you do.

The Prophet Ezekiel informed his audience that it wasn’t God’s
Will for them to suffer and die, but rather that they would turn
from their self-destructive ways and live (Ezekiel 18:30-32).
For years I have written letters to The Jerusalem Post and
elsewhere, decrying the Israeli government’s submission to
foreign authorities, sacrificing their national security due to
unbearable pressure from the international community, and have
encouraged the Jewish homeland to love and obey God and trust in
Him, not fickle men or nations that have proven they can’t be
relied upon (Joel 3:1-2).
Now I’ve come to the sad conclusion, the grievous understanding,
that Israeli leaders have often sold out their land and people
to foreign interests, bloating their personal bank accounts at
Israel’s expense, and that the pressure was often an excuse for
them to do what they had already agreed upon: continue the lying
peace process of phased destruction, dismantle the Jewish
homeland, dismember their Mother piece by piece and pervert the
Promised Land of Israel into an accursed “Palestine” (Ps. 83:4).
Israeli officials, bought and paid for like the political
prostitutes they are, serve their German-Jesuit EU Masters (with
plants in Washington, D.C. and other world capitols) and are
gambling with the land and lives of every Israeli. They
foolishly imagine that they can contain the breach in Israeli
security that they are collaborating in (Daniel 11:32, Joel
3:1-2), a deadly serious breach that will break open and flood
the Holy Land with foreign troops and sweep them away for the
filthy liars they’ve become with their false visions of “peace”
(Isaiah 28:14-18), based upon the BIG LIE OF EUROPEAN
“GUARANTEES” OF PEACE AND SECURITY.
The kapos of compromise are destined to get stomped by the EU
jackboot that will trample Jerusalem and pollute
Israel!(Zechariah 14:1-2). They will not escape the coming
Holocaust that will pale the former and will scorch the American
and British peoples as well.
Together we are the leading tribes of ancient Israel, Joseph
(Joes/Anglo-Saxons) and Judah (Jews), and will be overthrown in
a nuclear coup ignited by the modern Assyrians: GERMANY.
Germany is the driving force behind the EU empire in the making,
under the influence of the Vatican who has never given up their
Crusader-Kingdom dream of possessing Jerusalem!
How pitiful are those plaintive letters of concerned Israeli
citizens and Jewish and Christian-Zionist supporters worldwide!
They’re still foolishly believing, like I once did, that Israel
is only doing what they’re forced to do, against their better
judgment.
It’s past time we all wake up to the harsh reality that Israeli
leaders are on the take, that they’re playing “good guy/bad
guy,” that successive Israeli governments from both the Left and
the Right, are accomplices to murder - since they have the means
and ability to remove the threat the Arab terrorists pose (with
their daily calls for genocide against the Jews and the
destruction of Israel), as boldly called for by Meir Kahane
(Malachi 4:4), former Israeli Parliament Member and rabbi, but
purposely chose not to protect their family and friends.
Successive Israeli governments, of the Left and the Right, have
stood by idly while Judaism’s holiest site continues to be
occupied by Nazi-Muslims who illegally deny Christian and Jewish
religious rights upon the Temple Mount.
Israel has the power but lacks the will to exercise proper
sovereignty over Jerusalem; Israel has woefully neglected the
Temple Mount; Israel has failed to respect their biblical
inheritance and liberate the Arab-occupied territories and
immediately annex them, so Israel is losing it all, retreating
further into their walled ghetto, and have slit their own throat
by inviting disaster upon all: “peacekeeping” wolves in sheep’s
clothing.
Israel is going to fall. The American and British peoples are
also to suffer a brutal betrayal by the new kid on the block,
the EU bully, at the same time. The nuclear sickle the EU will
swing will soon cut us all down to size.
Our nations have failed to repent of their sins, to turn from
our idolatry and immorality, to trust in God and not man, to
love and obey God and not blindly follow tinsel traditions that
contradict the holy commandments, so we’re as good as defeated
and deported (Daniel 9:11).
The good news is that we don’t have to die, we can turn from our
sins and save ourselves and live as individuals and nations,
free, following the prescription of 2 Chronicles 7:14 that
President Reagan had his hand upon while taking his first oath
of office: 2 Chronicles 7:14 - “if my people, who are called by
my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and
turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and
will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
The days of most home owners putting ten percent down on a 30 year mortgage are long gone. One new option is zero down payment mortgage loans.
Zero Down Payment Mortgage Loans
Whenever you are looking for a loan, there are some good principles to remember. First of all, the more money you can put down on a home, the less your interest rate will be and the better deal you will get. Secondly, never settle for the first offer you get, always shop around and compare different offers. Those principles considered, there is a form of loan that may contradict them but still has its purpose: the zero down payment mortgage loans.
Zero down payment mortgage loans are just as they sound, they allow you to mortgage your home with a lender without having to put any money down on the loan itself. What you should know about this, first of all, is that it is violating the above principles and that this form of loan should be sought as a last resort. By restricting yourself to a zero down payment mortgage loan, you are restricting the offers you can get from lenders, since at that point most lenders will offer you the same exact deal. Also, putting no money down will lead to much higher interest rates then you would be paying otherwise.
That being said, zero down payment mortgage loans still serve their purpose. These loans, because they require no down payment, are good for those who have difficulty coming up with the cash savings required for a down payment on a home purchase. This loan can be useful in times when the market is at a low and starting to rise, since the value of the home will rise after the loan has been taken out, and the loan can be used in these cases since if the person receiving the loan waits, the market prices of home could rise considerably over that time. But remember, whenever you use a no down payment mortgage loan, the bank owns complete equity of the home and these leaves you no leverage for receiving loans against your equity. You will only earn equity as you pay off the home and as the value of the home rises.
At first glance, zero down payment loans sound like a great deal. In truth, they should be used as a last resort given the fact you will pay significantly more in interest over the length of the loan. At the end of the day, however, owning a home is better than not owning one, so these loans certainly have their place in the market.

As many plus size women know, finding plus size clothing is hard
enough, but finding a standardization in the sizing can be even
more daunting. After all, missy sizes many times are cut to a
20, and women’s plus sizes usually start at a 14W. And let us
not forget that UK sizes may look the same as the US, but more
times than not run a size smaller.
Here is the rule of thumb when looking at plus size clothing?
Women’s apparel plus sizes are usually cut more generously than
missy sizes, so if you see a W at the end of the size (not to be
confused with WP which means women’s petite) it is larger.
An example of how things work:
At J. Jill and Land’s End an XL = an 18 -20. (In contrast an XL
at Banana Republic = a 14-16).
Technology is always on our side (or at least we hope so) and in
the case of plus sizes the force is with us again. This new
technology will cure many fashion plus size problems with the
advent of avatars (3D models created in your exact image) to try
on plus size clothing. Many predict this will stem the growth of
mass customization where plus size stores will be offering plus
size clothing that will be made to order just for you.
So the moral of this story is when you are shopping at your
