Sudden Power Failure

Has the power gone out at your house? Has your refrigerator stopped working during the night? Are you concerned about the food that was in your freezer being okay?

Relax ,in that case you can use some easy tips for handling food safely.

Through the food away when it is thawed or warmed to room temperature. Throw it out if it has been sitting at room temperature for longer than two hours.

Make sure to cook the food right away if it’s almost thawed and still a little cold. Once cooked, food can be refrigerated for later or eaten right away.

You may notice ice crystals on your food and if so, it’s okay to freeze it again. You can put it in a cooler with some dry ice if there is no freezer available to you. These items will need to be cooked, because your freezer will not offer the same longevity that a normal freezer would offer.

Once food starts to show off the markings of freezer burn they need to be thrown out immediately.

It’s not possible to prevent the occurrence of unexpected power interruptions due to weather or accidents, but it is possible to react properly in such cases.
If your current refrigerator or freezer isn’t working like it should, your best bet is to purchase a new one.
